These eight oil paintings are visual documentation of the wishes I had back around 2015. I articulated my hopes by choosing a space for them, moving them into the right room. As the wishes and the reality got more and more distant from each other, the existent, familiar spaces turned into new, imaginary ones. The paintings doesn’t bound to follow the rule of the perspective; the composition is always dictated by the things I want to show.

Sylvia Plath’s Bell Jar inspired this small house. She imagined a fig tree, with every fig as a representation of a possible future she can have. If one chooses a fig, they inevitably say no to the others. The miniature bricks are my figs. Every each of them (366) carries a word or a sentence implying to my hoped or predicted future. Like: ‘exciting social life’ ‘half American daughter’ ‘I think I always wanted to be a single mother’ ‘I won’t write more bricks about Jancsi’. It is also an archive of my dreams from 2015.
